Bio of Rev. Dr. Gradis M. Eggleston
The Reverend Doctor Gradis Matthew Eggleston Jr. was born to the late Gradis and Mamie Alston – Eggleston in Warrington, North Carolina. He was the first of seven children born to their union.
Dr. Eggleston grew up in Coatesville, PA and attended the Coatesville Area School District before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After twenty years of service, he retired and returned home to Coatesville and reinstated himself to the TabernacleBaptist Church where he was converted and baptized in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1978, Rev. Eggleston attended training to be a Deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Churchand was ordained as a Deacon in 1979 by the late Rev. C. V. Willis. Dr. Eggleston answered his calling to preach the Gospel in 1980 and preached his initial sermon in December 1980. Soon after, he was ordained as a preacher in 1985.
Rev. Eggleston was enrolled in the Full Gospel Institute prior to enrolling in the Philadelphia Biblical University, graduating with a Bachelor of Divinity degree. Continuing to further his education, he enrolled into the New Life Theology, and Doctor of Ministry. In addition, he was awarded the Doctor of Divinity in 2006.
Dr. Eggleston became the Pastor of the First Baptist Church or Bernardtown in 1995 where he is currently servicing. The Lord has blessed Dr. Eggleston in such a tremendous way. Under his Sheppard’s watch, souls have been saved, Deacons have been ordained, Ministers have preached their initial sermon, Deaconess were trained, new members were instructed and baptized, prayer meeting and bible study continued, couples went through marriage counseling prior to being wed, and babies were dedicated back to the Lord.
On July 2, 2017, Rev. Dr. Gradis M. Eggleston, Jr. was installed as Interim Pastor.
